Understanding and Embedding Trauma Informed Care

8-Week Training Programme for Practitioners; Peer-Support Workers and Volunteers

What’s the Programme about?

It provides a comprehensive introduction to understanding early-life trauma, and its many-faceted consequences during adolescence and adulthood.  Explaining its causes and consequences, using accessible and understandable models; metaphors and analogies, it also lays out the evidence base for each principle discussed.  It teaches principles and tools for delivering boundaried and empowered trauma informed care and recovery strategies.

What’s the format of it?

  • 8 x 2 ½ hours (2 x 60 minute with break) – usually spread over 8 weeks of learning and interactive discussion. 

     Sessions are interactive, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions; share their own understanding and insights, and consider real life scenarios.

     Within each module, there will be opportunity for reflection and practical application of principles covered.

All frontline Practitioners; Peer-Support Workers and Volunteers from all sectors, keen to understand in-depth knowledge surrounding early life trauma.
