I have been working in the voluntary sector, with people experiencing complex trauma for over 25 years, and have been supporting people, one to one and in groups. I have worked with many people including those with complex acquired brain injury, adults with physical and learning needs, children and families in need, adults with dementia, those with mental health & addiction issues and the homeless.

I enjoy facilitating groups, and have facilitated many including a carers support group, cognitive and memory skills, bereavement, parenting skills, brain injury awareness, anger management (with a clinical psychologist).

I have been responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of volunteers for 25 years, (up to 150 volunteers) and am passionate about the important role of volunteering for recovery and wellbeing.

I am now a Minister of a small organic Baptist Church in Broadstairs, a community for people on the margins of society. I coordinate the outreach work to people in the area of deprivation where I live. I am passionate about people on the fringes of society finding wholeness and healing. We are working towards the church becoming a psychologically informed environment and are training local people with Reset-21 to reach out to others.

Suzanne Tester

I have been working supporting people with their Mental Health and Wellbeing since 2010. I have worked intensively with families to empower them to recognise the wide reaching impact that early life and intergenerational trauma can have on their lives. My passion for this work led me to train and qualify as a Counsellor. I have my own Private Practice working 1:1 with clients - www.suzannetester.com

I have a particular interest and experience working safely with Trauma, Complex Trauma, the lasting effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences and Family dynamics.

I am passionate about supporting people to make small changes that can significantly enhance their life as I believe every person deserves to feel connected and content.

I deliver workshops and courses to organisations around the topic of health and wellbeing which aims to help them explore healthy ways to cope with workplace stress.  I also deliver training to volunteers and staff within organisations who would like to work in a Trauma Informed Way and create a Psychologically Informed Environment. This area of my work is inspiring and allows this safe way of working to be shared more widely.
