“How do I connect with my kids?”
Breaking the cycle of ACEs (8 sessions)
Parenting is challenging at the best of times! However much we love our kids, they may often trigger us and this is especially true for those of us who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) ourselves. When we are triggered we react and then, once we are calmer, we wish we could have done things differently. It can be hard to find positive ways to connect with them. As we understand more about the impact of ACEs, we can make sense of why we get triggered and what we can do about it. How we can make simple changes to improve family life and our relationships with our kids. That’s what these eight sessions are all about!
Creating a supportive environment where parents can explore parenting challenges and discover effective, attachment based strategies for making family life healthier and happier.
It’s about learning ‘why we do what we do’ as parents; what triggers us and ways of becoming more resilient so we can be the parents we want to be.
It’s about strengthening our emotional connections to our children which in turn make it easier to positively manage challenging behaviour and situations.
It’s about breaking cycles of generational trauma and enabling children to thrive!
