Holistic support…..
At Reset-21 we recognise that “there can be no lotus flower without the mud!"*
We understand that the principle of ‘Trauma Informed Care’ can only be maintained successfully within the context of the larger environment to which it is applied, and this necessarily means that ALL levels of social and professional strata involved in ending the suffering of early life trauma must be considered as implicit in ensuring the success of ongoing work and practice.
The ‘mud’ that is implicit in the growth of the lotus flower represents the work, empathy and support invested in those most troubled by early life adversity and trauma.
To work purposefully with trauma entails a personal risk of exposure to vicarious trauma and ultimate ‘burn-out’ in work and practice, - unless our whole Organisations; and families; and wider ‘stakeholder’ Organisations; and social networks ALL have an understanding of the devastating consequences of adverse childhood experiences and early life trauma, and embrace this same philosophy of change.
For this reason Reset-21 adopt an holistic approach to our training and working with ACEs and early life trauma.
We work alongside practitioners, to implement and embed ‘Organisation-wide’ systems and policies that seek to ensure holistic support and common goals that are consistent and enduring. And, where possible, we also seek to work alongside practitioners in the implementation of these trauma informed practices.
No mud – no lotus flower!
